Paparazzi Matt

So the conversation went something like this...
Matt: You needed to post the picture of you turned to the side. We can't see your belly.
Jana: I know, that's what everyone is saying...I just hate profile shots.
Matt: Let's take more pictures right now then.

Matt: You need to take that black thing off. It just looks like you're hiding something under there.
Jana: Fine, but I'm sticking my tongue out at you.

Sly look on face = Ha, ha, I just stuck my tongue out at you.
Seeing the pics now, I guess Paparazzi Matt was right. But I still hate profile pictures.
And PS: 62 days to go...we better get a lot done over Spring Break!

30 Weeks

Enjoying the nice weather last Sunday. It's great to have some sun and temperatures above 40! I can no longer wear shirts that aren't maternity. Sad day. No t-shirts (none of mine anyway--Matt's work!). No Gap favorite tees. Only maternity. And it's slim pickins' for Maternity clothes it seems. Some of the things I bought last week at Target I'm pretty sure I would never pick out if it was available in "regular" clothes. But when there are only 2 racks of maternity clothes to pick from, even the ugly things somehow start looking better. Also, why must the maternity section blend into the plus size section? Doesn't that just make everyone feel bad? The plus sized and the pregnant?

Baby Bedding

So a sports theme it is! There are actually several versions of sports-themed baby bedding out there...but I keep coming back to this set. So it is on its way and we're one step closer to being ready. Ha, ha. That kinda makes me laugh. We're no where near ready...except for the fact that I think I look about 10 months pregnant. I'm ready for THAT to be over.
This tight, horizontal striped shirt that I'm wearing today is a huge mistake. Matt says to me, "Don't you know that fat people shouldn't wear stripes?" Thanks, man.

Basement Progress

The basement project has recently picked up some speed as we realize it's 75 days until we need to have Baby K's room all situated! Actually less than that. I'm putting an April 1st deadline on having it all finished. We're adding a TV area, a 3/4 bath and a 4th bedroom down in the basement so I'd like to shuffle the upstairs bedrooms so the guest room is downstairs, the current guest room becomes the computer room and the computer room becomes the baby's room. Lots to do. Funny how our crap alone can take up 3 bedrooms! But thanks to the help of many of our family members (who have much more expertise on these things than we do) we are progressing. It has been sheet-rocked and mudded and is actually starting to look like we're making some headway.

I don't really even pretend to try to help. I just pop down occasionally to consult. :) Thanks for all of your help everyone!

Udder Covers

So I ordered an "Udder Cover" the other day. This will be interesting...to say the least. I might be one of the biggest prudes I know. (I prefer to think of it as modest). Let's just say that I'd rather wear a turtle neck than a V-neck top any day, I've never shown cleavage in my life (really never had any til recently, I guess, but that's beside the point), and now I'm supposed to be all comfortable with myself and let only this thin and slightly see-through fabric of the Udder Cover be the only thing separating "me" from the world? I will NEVER be comfortable with nursing in front of people or with people in the vicinity even. Really. Never. Even with the magic Udder Cover it's not like people don't know what's going on under there. And it's not like they aren't thinking about it the ENTIRE time they are interacting with you. I know nursing is best. I want to nurse. But know that I'm nervous. And the arrival of this Udder Cover only makes it that much worse. Maybe breastfeeding class will help. Ha. It says to bring a doll with you to practice. Even the thought of pretending to press some doll up to my chest in this class makes my cheeks blush. Weird, weird, weird.

Heart Burn

If the old wives tales are true about heart burn during pregnancy and hairy babies...our little guy might come out looking like this...

Hopefully a blonde version at least. And, who am I kidding? Matt doesn't even have this much facial hair. Regardless of the end result of a hairy baby or not--let me tell you--it burns, it BURNS.

Don't Even Say The WORD!

Clearly, this is not my belly. But it does seem like a realistic estimate of what I may look like in 3 more months. 3 months to go. Seems so close...seems so far. When I look outside and see all the snow on the ground and realize it will be Spring, nearly Summer, when the baby arrives...it seems far off. But when you think in terms of days, 3 months, 90ish days...it seems so close!
So far, pretty much everything I read that is expected during pregnancy ends up happening to me. Runny nose, check! Heartburn, check. Back aches and leg cramps, check. Other things that are too gross to mention...check. However, there are 2 things that have not occurred. Two unpleasant things. Things that I fear will happen to me if mentioned...or even typed.
Stretch marks and hemorrhoids. Ahh! Please, please don't find me! Whenever Matt and I are reading through the "what to expect" lists when he gets to these "unmentionables" I say, "No--keep moving, don't even say the WORD!"

Chances are, I will not update you if either of these things do occur...but just know that so far, so good.
