Ready to go?

You'll be relieved to know that this week is going much more smoothly. As always, it just takes time to adjust. I don't usually get very personal on here so thanks for all the encouragement when I was struggling. I think we just might make it after all. :)
Over the weekend Cade had a runway show to try on his clothes for vacay. For some reason, I was thinking when we went to Florida it would be a lot colder here so I bought several 6 month summer outfits on clearance awhile back for the trip. Really, he could just wear what he's been wearing here to Florida, but what's better than new clothes on vacay?

Super-cute personalized Disney outfit from Aunt Pam & Uncle David, who will be joining us on the trip.

This was a clearance rack item that Matt says he refuses to let Cade wear. It says "Snappy Dresser" on it. I didn't think it was that bad. I'll buy anything for $1.80!

Bath time fun! He LOVES to splash! He is constantly moving all around in the tub.

Putting everything in his mouth...including his toes.

What? Is this wrong?

Impressive flexibility?

Wearing Aunt Beth's glasses...hopefully not doing Aunt Beth's homework?

Who me?!

Rolling all around. Won't be long until he's crawling!

Twelve Cade pictures too much for one post? Nah.

Time flies...

...when you're having fun.
Let's flashback...

When Cade was this tiny, people were always making comments about how fast the time flies by and before you know it you forget how small they were. It takes a little bit of time to fully understand the comments I think, because at the time I was just ready for the "more fun" stages to come where he interacts more. But now I get it.

Now he looks like such a big boy when he sleeps. (Yes, I did just go in and take this pic of him sleeping, mid-post). His hands seem so big. His clothes are not the tiniest size they sell. The days are flying by...and I don't know how I feel about it.
Some days have been harder than others. Some days I feel like I am not adjusting well at all to this. Some days I feel like I'm failing. We get up late, we rush out the door, I drop him off, I rush around at school feeling unprepared and then don't get home again until he's in bed. (This isn't a typical day, but has happened depending on evening activities). These days make me cry. I go pick him up from sleeping in his bed and hold him and I cry. And hope I'll do better tomorrow. It's hard to balance it all. Wow, I respect all of you out there who work full-time and are raising MORE THAN ONE child. Seriously can't fathom it. Not to be Johnny Raincloud here, but I'm just going through a phase of feeling like I'm doing a mediocre job at everything in life right now. This is a perfect time to pack up and retreat to the "Happiest Place on Earth" for awhile.

Very, very soon we'll be walking the streets of the Magic Kingdom. We'll be surrounded by family, in a place we love, without a care in the world. I'll be able to hold my baby all day and only part with him while I ride a ride or two. So it's with mixed emotions that the days fly by...anticipating what's to come, but not wanting it to pass too quickly. Such is life.

Sunday Funday

Congested Cade has turned me into a combination of "Dr. Mom" and MacGyver as I searched for remedies and then searched for tools to help accomplish these remedies. It wasn't pretty. Cade was angry as I shot homemade saline solution in one nostril and out the other...but I think it was effective. After it was all over he got right back to being his smiley self.

Sunday Funday consisted of a "no shirt, no shoes, no problems" theme...for Cade and Matt. I think we're ready to move up a size in diapers as there have been LOTS of leaks lately...but I really want to finish this box of diapers. Is that like making your kid squeeze into too small of underwear or something? Seems cruel and wrong...but he doesn't seem to mind.

Notice the fall decorations have been brought out, funny how I've pared it down to one wreath, one swag on the mantle, and one flower arrangement on the kitchen table. It took all of 2 mintues to decorate for fall and I could barely get it accomplished. Wish me luck come Christmas time I guess.

4 Month Photo Shoots

That's right, the Tot is already four months. He has changed so much in the last month, his personality is really starting to come alive! Audrey took some excellent shots at her parent's house in GB over the weekend. It's always so fun to see Aud and her family. She has big news...you should check it out.

Back to Cade. He is all about sucking on his two middle fingers. He won't take the pacifier at all anymore. You put it in his mouth and he won't chew on it. He just holds his mouth all weird until it falls out. As you wish...

He smiles a ton, but they are pretty impossible to capture.

And the best part is his little "square of hair" as MaKenzie calls it. Blonde business in the front, brunette party in the back.

And for our monthly, somewhat ghetto, at-home photos. This month proved to be the most difficult, but I guess he just wants to show us his new tricks.

He tries to put everything in his mouth...

He's always trying to grab his toes.

Loves to suck on those fingers!

Really Cade? Constantly rolling around. Ends up WAY off the playmat these days.

He has strong legs and wants to "stand" all the time now!

Birthday Fun!

Pizza, koolaid, and cake...looks like a 9 year old's birthday party. Or a birthday dinner for a 29 year old and his wife?
The Birthday Boy
Hey, there's ice cream cake?

Puh-lease can I have some?

Okay, thanks.
