The kids and I love us some summer-time. Prayers in the summer often involve thanking God for the gift of summer and the time we get to spend together. Can I get an amen?
This year we made a bucket list of all the fun things we want to accomplish...some before Baby Brother arrives, and some probably after.
We hit it hard right out of the gate for the first two weeks of summer, not knowing how long I was going to feel good enough to be out and about bucket-listing. For the first two weeks anyway, we set a lofty goal of going somewhere, making something, and reading something every day. Mission accomplished! These proved to be two of the best weeks ever!

Make something: My go-to for baking with littles--funfetti cookies. Future FACS class stand-outs for sure.
Go somewhere:
Kidscape at Johnson County Museum. We big-puffy-heart love this place.
Corn dog day at Sonic, don't mind if we do.
Make something: Building with Legos
We got rain nearly every day during these two weeks so that influenced what we could mark off the list a bit...hard to tell but the back corner of our yard remained a flooded "lake" during this time!

Make something: Jello Jigglers!
Make something: Chocolate-covered strawberries--our simplest yet most messy thing to "make!"
Make something: Reese's playdough cookies
Go somewhere: The evening we had hoped to go to a Royals game we had to switch it up for Chuck E. Cheese due to the rain.
Get a van: check!
We aren't really "car" people around here--we really couldn't care less what we drive--just want to get from point A to point B in a reliable fashion. I have been driving a tiny Ford Focus (and really liked it!) so this seems like gobs of room to us! The "champagne" color was not my first choice but the price and combination of features were right for us so she's all ours. And I must say, the automatic sliding doors are a game-changer!! #Iusedtobecool #buthaveneverreallydrivenacoolcar

Luckily the kids were really into it and took their time painting, because this turned out to be one of our most expensive ventures! This place was not cheap!!

Use our swim pass: Check!

Meet Baby Cousin Max: Check! (actually this happened the week before, but still very exciting, nonetheless.)
Play at Penguin Park: Check!
Gathered with the whole gang in Wichita for the PEO Convention celebrating Matt's mom as her term as Kansas State President winded down.
Reese started her summer gymnastics class.
Cade spent a week with Matt at basketball camp and received camper of the day on the first day! #paystoknowpeople
Cade attended MNU baseball camp and LOVED it!
Sprinklers: check! (Even if it was short-lived...take us to a heated pool).

Still plenty of summer-fun left to be had! I have hit the wall though. Walking and even standing at times is super uncomfortable...and the heat is killing me! Power to those who can make it through for a July or August due date...you're my hero! I'm feeling like it could be any day now...we're at a nice stopping point for the bucket list, my to-do list is done, I'm all "nested up"--it's time!!!!
