Halloween Weekend

Still SO close to crawling...or doing a head stand...we're not really sure.

Opening his Halloween package from Matt's parents, Grandma Jan & Grandpa Mike

Had a mouthful of tissue paper by the end of it!

He could've played with the bag for hours...

Notice the theme here? Everything goes in the mouth!

Ready for a Saturday run with Mom, bundled up in WAY too many layers, but still slept through the whole run!

Beautiful day for Mill Valley High School Trunk or Treat! A little too nice out for a fleece pumpkin suit and insanely tight hat...

Getting a little love from the cheerleaders (who were dressed as cow girls)

Dad got to come along too!

Having fun with Coach Whitworth and Charlie

Matt and I attended a costume party and game night with our Adult Bible Fellowship group from church...we did not win the award for best costumes (Basketball player and referee...Matt wore his GB uniform and showed a little leg) but we did have the high score for the game night!

Cade wore his skeleton outfit from Aunt Christy on Sunday, which was much more weather appropriate.

I was Minnie Mouse sporting my souvenir ears from Disney World.

Cade's new pastime is to read magazines.

He pretty much goes crazy on it.

Allows me to have some time to do things like use the restroom, change my clothes and put on make-up.

Hope you had a great Halloween! I can only imagine how amped up the kids will be tomorrow...

MNU Football Homecoming

I survived conferences last week, and actually P/T Conferences are a piece of cake for me. I really never have "bad news" to give parents and any parents who need to hear the "bad news" don't usually make an appearance at conferences. Logged a lot of hours in 4 days, but was rewarded with Friday off. All is well.

Friday morning: Cade wants us to explain what "sleeping in" means again...

Dad is STILL sleeping?

Ready for MNU Homecoming events on Saturday

"I swear, Mom, if you take one more picture..."

Pancake breakfast before the game, followed by a tailgate, and Matt wanted to eat pizza that night. I thought I might explode from simple carb overload and a lack of nutrients...however that's just a normal day of eating for Matt.

Cade socializing at the MNU Alumni Basketball game

The Hardee's came over for a visit so Cade and Keye chilled together.

Then a fight broke out...

So Cade sat on Keye...

Then they made up...it was kinda like THEIR DAD'S were playing dolls?

Don't try this at home...on Sunday night Matt decided we should make s'mores and sit in the hot tub...simultaneously. Seems like a bad idea...

It really would have been great except that we haven't sat in the hot tub in about a year (over a year for me) and we turned it up WAY too high. We couldn't even put our feet in. It was SO HOT! We had "winterized" the yard earlier that day and put all the hoses away...so we dumped in all the ice our icemaker could make...but it still didn't really make a difference. I guess it's the thought that counts? The s'mores were still good.

October Update

I was trying to come up with something to blog about besides Cade...but who am I kidding? He's really what life is all about these days. Or at least the only part of life we seem to take pictures of anyway. The days are flying by. Seriously, October, where have you gone? I'm not really complaining though...Winter Break anyone? Or even better yet, is it summer yet?!
We're already into our 2nd quarter at school and Parent/Teacher conferences are this week. The days go by so quickly...partly because it's a whirl-wind of a day in the world of a middle school FACS classroom! Life consists of church activities, school, and cheer practice/football/soccer games for me, and Matt's schedule has become quite hectic as practice started up in the beginning of October. Some days are more successful than others. Some days I'm on time and some days I'm not. Some days I shower and some days not so much. Cade has joined me at a few Mill Valley football games to help keep the cheerleaders in line. He's attended a couple practices as well. Biggest distraction ever. Works much better to have him at games than at practice. He is a chick magnet I guess!

After arriving back home from a JV football game. It really wasn't that cold but I was super-paranoid people were judging me for having my small child at the game. When I took him out of his seat he was all sweaty. Over-prepared?

My parents came to visit last weekend. I am loving how often they've been getting to see Cade. My mom can't go more than a couple weeks and we're totally fine with that! G-Dad did a great job getting Cade off to sleep while Matt and I went to see "Life As We Know It" (Fork & Screen, of course--I'm ready to try the Cinema Suites I think). Cute movie, predictable but cute.

Cade wants to crawl so bad. He pushes himself up with his arms and tries to dig in with his feet...it's just not all coming together yet. I don't know why we want him to crawl...it will change life dramatically!

He's sitting up really well also. Looks like some sort of baby yoga pose or something.

What? Who's the cutest baby you've ever seen?

Sometimes life is hard...

Good Luck, Runners!

Just wanted to wish everyone good luck in the upcoming KC Marathon on Saturday as we have several friends participating. At one point I had planned to run in it...but when I was able to fit back into my pre-pregnancy pants again training wasn't so appealing. I do feel like a slacker that I didn't complete the training...I hate feeling like a quitter. Hopefully I'm just a post-poner and not a quitter.
The pic above is a googled pic from the Disney Marathon. I would do a full marathon if it was at Disney. But they are usually in the dead of winter and although it would be warm there, training would be nasty here.
I'm no half marathon expert, as I've only run the Omaha Marathon (see my entry here) and it was 2 years ago now. But my advice would be to push yourself while enjoying the race. Smile at all the spectators and enjoy the payoff of all your hard work!

5 Months

5 months old today! Lots of drooling...and as of yesterday a brand new tooth is poking through on the bottom! Hasn't bothered him at all. He's still just as happy as ever.

Who has cool Air Jordan's?

Still doing this...all the time

Quite squirmy

You can't fool me Mom, I know the sign is back there.

Have you seen my new kicks?

Seductive Cade?

Bored Cade

Super-cute Cade

14 pounds 2 oz. Sleeping like his dad, 8-9 hours a night and napping in the morning and afternoon. :)
