Got to view the Sugarland concert from the Executive Suite thanks to my friend Erin! Enjoy the music that's playing on the playlist for a taste of the concert. Even just putting their well-known songs on the list was still like 10 songs!

However, this is the only concert where my ears were still ringing when I got home 2 hours later. And I'm fairly certain that I've lost some hearing in my left ear. It sounds like I have my hand cupped over it all the time. Is this a problem? Is this due to the executive suite? NO! Surely not!

Summer Fun!

Our new hang out is the "Family Fun Center" where we can play gooney golf! We've already been twice this week. Losers of each hole had to think of a creative way to be photographed with the props at that hole. Very fun! Notice I'm in very few photos...I WON!!! Yea for summer!










Here Beth and Mitch actually both got a hole in one, not last. We may not play again all summer, just so I can end on a win. Or I might become a pro mini golfer and play every day. I'll let you know.

Feeling Crafty!

Need to wrap some "last day of school" gifts before tomorrow (the last day of school!!). But I have no wrapping paper...crap. So I don't know if this is crafty as much as it is just resourceful I guess. But I'm pleased with how they turned out. I felt like I was channeling my co-worker Anna who is ultra-crafty, and pretty much all-knowing in my mind. Check out her blog for awesome give-aways and creative ideas! Thank you SO much Anna for helping me through this year!

Welcome to the Blog List!

This post is to welcome two new names to the "Blogs I Read" list on the right. Sam & Jamie are sorority sisters of mine who I've shared some great times with over the years! It was news to me that they both had blogs! Yea! So I've added them to the list so we can all see what's new with them (yes, many new things going on with them!!). Celebrating the G-Dog!!

There has been a lot of celebrating going on these past 2 weekends as Gentry turned 22 and then graduated from K-State.

Comforter for her new room in her new place! (No more G-Phi bunk beds!)

Her friends made her this cool puzzle! Each person wrote on a piece and they mailed it home for her birthday for her to put together. Cool idea! Not bad for being organized by a guy!

Where is G-Dog?

Gentry received an award for being the "Outstanding Future Secondary Teacher." This award was given to ONE person in the College of Education! Wow!!!

Aprons!

Remember last Mother's Day when I made aprons for all the mothers in my life? Yep. So what do you think I chose for the SHORT little sewing unit in my Fashion & Textiles class? Yep, aprons. Do high school girls like aprons? Hmm...don't really care...because that's kinda all I know how to make! It's proved to be less problematic than I expected...I was having some crazy nightmares about a class full of 24 using 9 sewing machines under my supervision. Fashion & Textiles is NOT my favorite class to teach...but it has worked out fine...and I don't have to teach it next year...that's a whole other post in itself!



We took a field trip to JoAnn's and everyone picked out their fabrics for their reversible aprons. Their personalities really shined through in their choices! Most made them to give to their mom's for Mother's Day. Glad sewing unit is nearly over!
Also, it's nearly graduation time. Seniors get done 2 weeks before the rest of the students here. That's just a little too early. I grew pretty close to my Consumer Skills classes which are juniors and seniors only. Had a couple of great groups that really participated well and learned a lot. I learned a lot too! So I wanted them to have a small momento from the class.

Easter 2009

Went to GB for Easter...24 hours with Keeley's and 24 hours with Sauder's. The Kid was sick so that put a damper on things...but we still dyed eggs (twice) and had a great time with everyone!
