Cam Update

Cam Jam.  Cammy Jam.  Cam Bam Jam.  Cammers (a new one added by Brenley).  And sometimes, okay often, called "that baby" by Matt and I.

Cam has been our most laid back baby yet--pretty much doing whatever we need him to do.  Stay quiet in the stroller, you got it.  Ride around in the car for an hour picking up everyone from school every single day, no prob.  Entertain yourself during a gymnastics class or basketball game, he is on it.  The ultimate third child.

Even though Cam is such a good baby, adding him to the mix has not been easy.  In fact, adding a third child has been downright hard.  Even one as lovable as Cam.  Now I think there were a lot of other factors at play this past year to create the perfect storm of me losing my freaking mind--but Cam will probably be the scape goat for that one.  Actually, I do believe it was God working in my heart and prepping me to stay at home.  The last year was a blur which helped me to be open to the idea of stepping away from work and attempting to get a grip on things.  But that's for another post...back to Cam!

Cam spreads joy wherever he goes.  With a squinty smile like that, how could you not?

Cam is a well-traveled little dude. He has flown more times than I can count and made an 1,800 mile car trip as well!  He joined Matt and I for a trip to check out Arizona in the spring, came with us when we flew out to meet the moving truck and then made the car ride with us when we moved here as well.  (The other kids flew with my parents).

When we were here to close on the house but our belongings never arrived (promise I will tell that story at some point) we went to Dunkin Donuts every morning for breakfast and to watch TV.

Cam got to explore the house first and even cut his eye open on one of the spindles after being here a matter of hours...probably should have gotten a stitch or two.  Definitely going to leave a mark.

Back to Kansas...hitting up the dance floor at Beth and Keith's wedding.

Posing with the new Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson

We celebrated Cam's birthday with a fairly impromptu gathering at my parent's house in GB.  A huge thanks to my mom who made all the little details of the party come together!

Cindy, Luke, and Lawson

The thing is that the birthday gathering was held perhaps at a time that Cam would have rather been sleeping...

So even though he enjoyed himself...the pics would tell you otherwise.

The birthday sugar cookies are my thing.  So even though at this point in time all of our belongings were on a truck lost somewhere in California, I had pulled the necessary cookie cutters to keep with us to make the cookies.  However, something wasn't quite right and they ended up black/hunter green and tasting a little off...but let the record show that there were sugar cookies there...I tried!

Let me go back to sleep, people!

Hitting up the park for toddlers in GB

Back to Arizona, this time to stay.  Cam traveled extremely well on the 15+ hour journey.  He cried for probably less than 10 minutes the whole way!
Low key 4th of July...but HOT!

Cam loves exploring the splash pads here!

Well, really Cam loves any kind of exploring.  He hates toys.  He prefers to just be-bop around and grab things he shouldn't.

Everyone (attempting) to show off their new back packs.

Cam is my little sidekick this year and we are already having a blast!  We've been baking, running errands, cleaning, and painting!  Or really I've been doing most of those things while Cam sleeps!  Since we have moved here he has actually picked up a nap so he really doesn't stay awake for more than 3-4 hours at a time.  Part of me fears he is narcoleptic and won't be able to go to school or anything because of needing so much sleep!  Actually I think it's just so hot here and he's getting two huge molars on the bottom so his response is to sleep.  He's easing me into this SAHM thing by napping in the morning, afternoon and evening!  (I thought maybe he had low iron levels making him tired but they checked it at his well-visit and said he's good to go, just a growing/sleeping guy!)

Back yard "swimming"--it's hot here, people!!!

Cam is still yet to break 20 pounds!  At nearly 14 months he weighs 19.5 pounds, 20th percentile for weight, 25th percentile for height and 75th percentile for head size.

Cam, you're a blessing to our family.  I love getting to spend time with you and watch you learn and grow.  You perfectly complete our crazy bunch and we all will always do whatever it takes to get you to smile or give off that infectious laughter like you do!  We love you, Cam!
