Easter 2009
Went to GB for Easter...24 hours with Keeley's and 24 hours with Sauder's. The Kid was sick so that put a damper on things...but we still dyed eggs (twice) and had a great time with everyone!

WRHS Prom
Matt & I "chaperoned" the "Night at the Oscars" prom a couple weeks ago. I "quote" chaperoned because I'm pretty sure a handful of the other chaperones probably thought we were attending the prom...but it was fun. It's one of those things that I'd show up to for free but since they pay you to be there it's even better! Brought my camera but it seemed weird and stalkerish to take pics of anything...except Kak and I on the red carpet!

Car Shopping...It's Time!
My current set of wheels: 1997 Honda Accord

This car has been good to me. Making me a believer in foreign cars running strong (kinda) at 143,000 miles. I felt like I was being selfish and materialistic when I thought about getting a new car, this one's fine. But it's been brought to my attention that it's days are numbered and we should at least be car shopping. My parents won't let me make the 3 hour trip home again in this car. Fine.

So to look at anything other than a Honda would not make me the "Honda girl" I claim to be. However...

These are supposed to compare...and I could get a newer, better one for a similar price...

Whatta ya think? Accord or Fusion?
I'm far too emotional about shopping...it's going to be a nightmare when we start looking for a house. I want the first one I see. I'm ready to drive it off the lot...today. Matt...not so much. Good thing I guess.

Mr. Clean?
Who is this guy?
Matt?
I come home from the cheer clinic and cannot find Matt...and our place consists of like, 3 rooms. When I head into the kitchen I find him buried in the microwave just scrubbing away. I don't know what's gotten into him lately, but he's been on such a clean kick! I feel like we've totally reversed roles since we got married. I used to rush around cleaning (thinking that a clean place meant that I was a good wife) while he relaxed on the couch and begged me to join him. Now I find myself sprawled out on the couch begging him to stop cleaning and join me! Who are we?
Special Delivery!
How pretty! Really, the picture doesn't do them justice. My heart leaped when the office called my classroom to say that flowers had just been delivered to the school for me. What a way to brighten my day! Thank you Grandmama & Papa for the beautiful arrangement. They smell SO good too. I couldn't decide whether to bring them home or leave them at school (since I spend most of my time there). But there were better photo opps at home and the smell of the white roses has filled up the whole apartment. I love coming in the front door and being hit with the sweet smell. Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness!

Spring Break Projects Completed!
It's Spring Break! Finally! I've been so looking forward to this day...the day when I DO NOT have to set my alarm. The day when I can lounge around and do whatever I want...and then repeat that pattern for 6 more days!!! I'm hoping this Spring Break with relatively no plans will cure all my recent run-ins with procrastination and Spring Fever!
Now I'm known for making to-do lists for these days off of school that are 2 miles long and completely unattainable. I seem to have a very unrealistic sense of what I can achieve in one day. So during this break I made my to-do list very concise and completely attainable. I need the self-esteem boost that comes with finishing a to-do list. And just one day into Spring Break...it's done! Yea!!!
Organize excess crap in extra bedroom...check!

(Please take note of the bright neon insulated lunch bag that I used in grade school. Yes, keeping crap like this is how we ended up with so much crap!!)

So this still looks junky and chaotic...but at least now I've been through all the crap (actually did throw some away, believe it or not), confirmed there are no mice or spiders living amongst it, and now somewhat have an inventory of what the crap is.

Make the Oreo cake from Better Homes & Gardens magazine...check!
Their version...

And my version...

It's always good to have atleast one edible goal on the to-do list. :) Have a great Spring Break!

WRHS Cheer Season Ends
We finished off the year with our cheer banquet last Tuesday. As usual, the parents went all out and it was a really nice banquet. Coaching a freshmen squad was an adjustment for me this year. But I'm really proud of all they accomplished, and I think I've successfully learned how to tone my intensity down to be 9th grade appropriate. A highlight for me was getting to know the other coaches. They are definitely a huge part of what I love about WRHS!

More photo books. It's become my banquet gift of choice. :)
