Gentry + Scott

We all were honored to get to play a role in Gentry and Scott's special day!  Matt was an usher, the kids were ring bearer and flower girl, and I was the matron of honor.  It made for a busy day keeping everyone dressed, clean, attended to, etc so I didn't get that great of pics but it was indeed a very memorable day nonetheless!

The wedding was also the weekend of the K-State vs. Oklahoma State football game--a showdown for our divided family!  Cade supported the Cowboys on Friday and the Wildcats on Saturday.

I love the colors and flowers Gentry chose!  The wedding was in Wichita and all of her vendors and venues worked out wonderfully!

The representatives for the Horner Family from North Carolina.  We had fun with Mindy and Leigh but missed the rest of the clan that couldn't make it...especially out on the dance floor!

Fix #7

First off, if you're wondering "what is Stitch Fix?"  Click here!

This was my seventh fix and, unfortunately, the most disappointing fix to date.  Let's just say I received a "we're sorry you didn't love your fix" email from Stitch Fix a few days after this.

Piece #1:
I didn't hate this shirt, but it was made out of a strange material that reminded me of old-school wind pants and wrinkled very easily.  There were loose threads all over and it just seemed cheap.  And the price tag was not so cheap.  No thanks.

Piece #2:

Awkward crotch, boot-cut JEANS.  I thought I'd made it clear in my style profile that I'm looking for interesting pieces...not basics.  Expensive and ill-fitting jeans.  No thanks.

Piece #3:

Scarf that I'm assuming is to be worn with the fuscia shirt.  I like the scarf...kinda made me want to keep the shirt...

Piece #4: 

Trippy mushroom-like floral shirt.  Very soft arms and comfy shirt.  But not my taste at all.  No thanks.

Piece #5
Fairly basic gray pea coat.  Pretty buttons, but I'm not really in need of another pea coat.

Harumph.  Disappointing.  But it definitely could be my lack of specific directions in my style profile.  Maybe I'm just leaving it too open-ended by saying, "send me fun pieces!"  Maybe someone would call that shroomy-floral shirt "fun."  Yikes.  

It's still very convenient and exciting to see what they pick out for me and it's probably unrealistic to think I'd love EVERYTHING they send.

I kept the scarf, made some adjustments to my style profile, and hope for more pieces that I love in January!

Fall Fun of 2014

Now that the "Arctic Blast" has rolled in--we'll think back to when it was warm enough to go without coats at the pumpkin patch this year!

We enjoyed a Sunday afternoon venture with the Heine's to Hickory Creek Ranch, just a few miles from us.  They had a corn maze and TONS of activities for the kids.

We enjoy painting pumpkins at our place rather than carving...not ready to let them loose with knives yet!

Back when we started talking about Halloween costumes, the kids stated they wanted to wear their same costumes as last year.  Who am I to tell them that they are allowed to get new costumes each year?  I'm going to ride this train as long as we can! 

Our trick-or-treating this year took place at Trunk or Treats the week before Halloween.  We went to the Mahaffie House with all the cousins.

I'm so glad I was able to go to Cade's school Harvest Party.

They're so cute!  It was so fun to see his class and meet his friends.  I so wish I could take him and pick him up every day!

Then Ms. Amy read a Halloween story.  Ms. Amy is a great teacher, I've been so impressed with her this year.

I spotted Cade's quilt square in the classroom that we had made about our family.  I was so mad at myself that I didn't snap a pic of it before we submitted it!

Gentry and Scott's Wedding Rehearsal fell on Halloween so they had a costume party dinner, which ended up being very festive and fun!

MaKenzie said she'd bring an outfit for me from the Pi Phi costume closet.  I was game...even though I got talked into wearing a Pi Phi Pink Lady jacket.
